Valentine's Day NOTD, and OOTD

Hello everyone! Happy Valentine's Day! I know that this is a really late Valentine's Day post, but I had to do it anyway. I am not specifically doing nails today; I'm going to show you all of my special activities for the day. That means that I will be showing my outfit, my nails, and the desert I made. (macarons yay!) I will start with my outfit.

My sister and I went out in the cold (again) and took Valentine's Day ootds in the snow! She convinced me to take pictures too so I felt that I should show you guys. All of the pictures and their captions are below.

My lovely scarf was from Sears. I have no idea what the brand is.

A back view of my outfit. :D

The purse was from Nordstrom. It is from the Jessica Simpson line. The hand sanitizer and case are from bath and body works! ;)

Making a face :p
Whole outfit: Sweater is a liz claiborne and it's from JCPenny, Skirt is from Forever 21, Gloves are my mom's, Boots are Ukala by Emu from Carson's.

I did my nails really last minute today. I did half of my nails at a friend's house yesterday, and today I just grabbed some polishes and threw together my two accent nails. I didn't even do my right hand. But I am surprisingly pleased with how it came out. (and it didn't smear this time.... that's a really big accomplishment for me.) The pictures are below along with a listing of the nail polishes that I used.

Thumb, pinky, and middle finger are an Essie color from my friend's house. I didn't take down the name.

Zoya 'Godiva' is on my index finger.

I used Sally Hansen 'white out' and Zoya 'Drew' on my ring finger.

Last, but most definitely not least, I made macarons. This ended up being a three day process (although it shouldn't have been) and I'm really happy with them. I made chocolate ones and raspberry vanilla ones. The chocolate ones were an utter fail (they all cracked) but they tasted excellent. A few of the raspberry vanilla ones cracked too, but the majority didn't so I'm very content. I have also included one picture of my raspberry vanilla macarons (taken by my father) below. So, that is the end of this post! I hope that you enjoyed it. Don't forget to subscribe to this blog and to comment on this post. I want to know what you think! Talk to you guys later, bye.

Sephora 'Take The Cake' Brush Review

Hello again everyone! Next month, I shall officially be allowed to wear makeup out of the house. (yay!) So, in preparation for that big event, I have started buying my makeup supplies. About a week ago, I bought my first set of brushes! I went online to Sephora and bought their little Take the Cake travel brush set. It looked cute and it was still in my budget. The set came with a flat powder brush, an eye shadow brush, a crease brush, and an angled eyeliner brush all in an adorable, little, bright pink case. Sadly, I was disappointed with these, and I returned them yesterday.

First off, these brushes are extremely small. I expected them to be smaller than normal brushes, but, I mean, these are REALLY small. They are just a bit larger than the palm of my hand (And my hands are very tiny mind you). They were still adorable, but they were almost like little toys. I just didn't feel that I could get any use out of them.

The brushes were also pretty dense. The eye shadow brushes were the densest, and they didn't feel nice at all. According to my wonderful sister they would be especially bad for starters. The best of the brushes was most likely the angled eyeliner brush. It was a decent size, and the brush itself was decent. It would have been pretty okay for applying eyeliner. But other than that, I didn't really like the quality of the brushes themselves.

I was very saddened and disappointed by all of this because the brush set was truly adorable. I really wanted to like it and keep it. However, it really didn't suit my needs, and I was utterly disappointed. I think that perhaps Sephora should put some form of dimensions on their website concerning the travel size brush sets. It would really help a lot.

Well, I hope that you guys enjoyed this post and found it to be helpful and informative. Please comment on it to tell me what you think, and don't forget to subscribe to my blog. I'll talk to you all later! Bye.

Superbowl 2014 nail art design

Hello again everyone! Today is the superbowl! I came to this realization late last night and suddenly realized that I needed to do my nails for it. I haven't actually done any nail art in a really long time, but yesterday, I pulled it off. It was roughly inspired by cutepolish (at first) but then I decided that I wanted to use the Seahawks and the Broncos for my index and ring finger. I tried to duplicate the logos at first (utter fail) but that didn't work. So, I have decided to just use the colors from the two logos, and I striped them across the tips of my nails. The only bit that remains from cutepolish's design is the football on the middle finger. I really loved that idea. The thumb and pinky fingers are just a green because I felt that it kind of matched. I have pictures of the design below. I hope that you guys like it and are even inspired by it. Please don't forget to subscribe to this blog and comment on this post. I would really like to know what you think! Talk to you later. Bye.

excuse the smeariness of the football finger. The topcoat felt the need to mess it up.

nail polishes used: 'White On' by Sally Hansen, 'I saw...U saw...we saw...warsaw' by OPI, 'Tan Gerine' by Princessa, 'little brown dress' by Essie, the orange is a combination of 'Myrta' by Zoya and 'lemon drop' by Covergirl, 'Jade is the new black' by OPI, 'Good to Go' by Essie.
